Podcast: It's Got Star Trek

The It’s Got Star Trek podcast offers a weekly, irreverent, and in-depth dive into all the various corners of the Star Trek franchise. Revel in ribald discussion of episodes and movies plucked from across time and space, including The Original Series, The Animated Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, and Prodigy, as well as full coverage of Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks, and Strange New Worlds!

#5 – ‘Broken Bow’ Enterprise Pilot

In this, the newest installment of the It’s Got Star Trek podcast, your gradually aging hosts analyze the pilot episode of (Star Trek:) Enterprise, ‘Broken Bow.’  We praise the writing and acting, question the inclusion of the “sexy” decontamination scene (while cheering on the “sexy” alien frog-tongued girls), and generally swoon over the hottness of Scott Bakula.

#4 – ‘Caretaker’ Voyager Pilot

You are invited to enjoy the newest episode of It’s Got Star Trek, in which your beleaguered hosts wrestle with the fact that they like, but don’t love, ‘Caretaker,’ the pilot episode of Star Trek: Voyager.  We discuss Tom Paris’ presumptions, Captain Janeway’s shady (and short-lived) senior staff, and confusing interpretations of the Prime Directive.  Also, Neelix.  Subscribe today at your nearest certified Podcast® dealer!

#3 – ‘Emissary’ DS9 Pilot

This week your hosts fawn over their favorite (spoiler!) of the Star Trek pilot episodes, Deep Space Nine’s ‘Emissary.’ Joined again by guest TNG expert Daniel H. Johnson (who is a dab hand at DS9 as well), Patrick, Dan, and Jesse praise the tight writing, efficient world-building, and distinctive atmosphere present right from the start of what is arguably the best Star Trek series to date. Oh, we also discuss the sinister implications of a Federation justice system that does not include plea bargains, Miles O’Brien’s favorite transporter room, and the uncomfortable awkwardness of our new daddy fighting with our old daddy…

Join us for another earth-shattering, mind-blowing, soul-evaporating episode of It’s Got Star Trek! Allamaraine!

#2 – ‘Encounter at Farpoint’ TNG Pilot

In this installment of the It’s Got Star Trek podcast, Patrick, Dan, and Jesse continue their quest to discuss all the Star Trek pilots with ‘Encounter at Farpoint,’ the episode that introduced the world to the gentle wisdom of Jean-Luc Picard, the aggressive charm of William Riker, and the understated sensuality that is a brace of space-faring jellyfish.  Your hosts are joined by one of the world’s foremost experts on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Daniel H. Johnson, and cover topics including Riker’s anti-android racism, Geordi’s condescending gesticulation, and John de Lancie’s oboist parents.  Also, what exactly was Groppler Zorn’s plan – did he honestly think this was all going to work out in his favor?  Anyway, this is a good one – go get it!

#1 – ‘The Cage’ & ‘Where No Man Has Gone Before’ TOS Pilot(s)

At long last, after endless haranguing by fans from across the world, the It’s Got Everything Podcast Network is excited to present the very first episode of the It’s Got Star Trek podcast, featuring hosts Patrick, Dan, and Jesse, three of the foremost Trek experts this side of Argus Array. In the pilot episode of the podcast, your hosts will discuss the ins, outs, and arounds of the two (TWO!?) pilot episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series, ‘The Cage’ and ‘Where No Man Has Gone Before.’ We’ve hidden a few smart bits in among the dumb bits – be the first to find one!

Podjam Trektacular

Just a few more days until the It’s Got Star Trek podcast officially launches! To get things started, your hosts will be doing a series of episodes focused on the Star Trek pilot episodes, starting with a double-bill of “The Cage” and “Where No Man Has Gone Before” from TOS. That will be followed the next week by The Next Generation’s “Encounter at Farpoint” then the week after that we’ll have Deep Space Nine’s “Emissary” and – wouldn’t you know it! – the week after that we’ll totally be tubing down Voyager’s “Caretaker” river and spilling out into Enterprise’s “Broken Bow.” But what will come next, you might be wondering? How will you handle the pattern-breaking launch of Discovery? Well, by covering “The Vulcan Hello” and “Battle at the Binary Stars” in one episode, followed by “Context is for Kings” in a follow-up installment. Now you might be wondering, are these fools actually going to keep this up? Well, I can assure you that these fools will – and my assurance is ironclad as we’ve already recorded all this noise. Anyway, don’t get upset, just relax and enjoy this preview podjam on a loop until Thursday, December 5 (maybe at midnight? who knows?!).
